Australia Day brings all the best bits of summer together - mates, music, the beach and lots of fun in the sun, so there's no better place to celebrate in Aussie style, than on Fraser Island.

Each year, everyone on Fraser Island gears up for a day of all-Australian activities, starting off with morning tea! Keep a lookout for Captain Australia, who'll be handing out tasty lamingtons, perfect to enjoy with a cuppa!

Later on in the arvo, Captain Australia will lead our annual Thong Throwing Challenge! Meet down on the beach for a whole lotta fun, to see who we crown the ‘Thong Throwing Champion’ (BYO thongs to throw).

...and we can't forget our all-round favourite Aussie pastime...beach cricket! Ask our team at the Sunset Bar to borrow some wickets and set up a game, or come down and hire some stand-up paddleboards and test your skills out on the water!

Or you can catch all the action on the big screen, with the Big Bash cricket and Australian Open aired in the Maheno Bar and The Sand Bar throughout the day.

If you're looking for the best place to spend a true blue Australia Day, round up your mates, get the fam ready and check out our hot deals to make the most of an Aussie-inspired getaway.

Here's to a day of sand, sea and Aussie sporting fun in the sun!

Check out the What's on Guide for all of the action-packed activities!
