The Kingfisher Bay Ferry has four services to the resort each day from River Heads and return. This ferry has two decks with a fully licensed bar and snack food available. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes.

Address: Shop 7/54, River Heads Shopping Village, River Heads Road, River Heads, Queensland 4655. (Note: River Heads Road becomes Ariadne Street at the Shopping Village)

Guests are advised to arrive at the mainland reception 40 minutes prior to ferry departure for check in. A courtesy shuttle from the Mainland Reception to ferry will leave 10 minutes prior to ferry departure time. If your ferry is departing prior to 12pm, please continue straight down River Heads Road, for check in at The Ticket Hut. 

NOTE: Unless specified, ferry costs are not included in your resort room rate.

Pre-booking passenger ferry or vehicle ferry transfers is recommended.

River Heads Mainland Reception / Ticket Hut:

This office will operate 7 days a week to provide services to barge, tours and resort guests. 

River Heads Mainland Reception will open from 08:00am - 16:00pm

The Ticket Hut is open from 07:30am - 11:00am daily (Located by the River Heads Boat Ramp)

#Please check ferry times carefully before booking airfares and allow enough travelling time. The travelling time across the Great Sandy Strait is 50 minutes and it is approximately 15 minutes from River Heads to the airport. If you are using our portering service, please allow extra time to identify and collect your bags.

PLEASE NOTE: The barge service between River Wanggoolba Creek from River Heads is scheduled daily, however please note that some services are affected due to tides, and may land at Kingfisher Bay Resort*. We encourage all travellers to check with our reservations team at the time of booking, for the current schedule.

*Note: Should crossing times change during cases of extreme low tides, our Reservations team will inform you at time of booking or check out our Facebook page for updates.

Guests with existing bookings will be contacted and their bookings moved to other services.

Car parking is available in the secure lot at Kingfisher Bay Mainland Reception, for those not taking a vehicle across to Fraser Island.

First night: $25
$20 each night after that.

Please note: There is limited availability, so booking in advance is recommended.

One Way Adult: $35 / Child: $18
Return Adult: $60 / Child: $30

All rates are in Australian Dollars and are valid until 31 March 2020.  NB: Unless specified, ferry transfers are not included in your resort room rate.

Fraser Island Barges Service:

Off Peak: $180 Return
(Includes driver only. $5.00 per extra vehicle passenger)

*Peak: $205 Return
(Includes driver only. $5.00 per extra vehicle passenger)

All rates are in Australian Dollars and are valid until 31st March 2020.
*Peak Dates: 02 April - 18 April 2021, 18 September - 04 October 2021, 23rd Dec - 10 Jan 21/22
*Rates are for standard 4WD vehicles.
