All reservations require credit card details to secure bookings and payment will be charged upon check out.
Transaction Currency AUD. All on-line credit card charges will be processed in AUD.
During peak season a 1 night (or equivalent) deposit is required to confirm with the balance payable 30 days prior to arrival.
A 1.15% surcharge will apply to the total amount for payment  made by VISA,  MASTERCARD and American Express AMEX credit cards. We do not accept Diners Cards.

Kingfisher Published Rates and Kingfisher Year Round Packages (Off Peak Travel)

  • Bookings made and/or cancelled more than 15 days prior to arrival will receive full refund.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled more than 5 days, less than 15 days prior to arrival will be charge with the average total value of 1 night accommodation rate or the average of 1 night of the total value of the package.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled less than 5 days of arrival, no refund will be given.

Kingfisher Published Rates and Kingfisher Packages (Peak Travel)

  • Bookings made and/or cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival will receive full refund.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled more than 15 days, less than 30 days prior to arrival will be charge with the average total value of 1 night accommodation rate or the average of 1 night of the total value of the package.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled less than 15 days of arrival, no refund will be given.

Rate of the Day, "Book Now, Pay Later" Rate and Promotional Packages

  • Rate of the Day, "Book Now, Pay Later" rate and/or any Promotional Packages are only be available for direct online bookings.
  • Rates shown in these categories are subject to changes at any time and can be only be guaranteed upon confirmation at the time of booking.
  • Room rates, package rates and inclusions confirmed at the time of booking cannot be amended unless there is a change of arrival/departure dates.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled more than 15 days prior to arrival will be charge with the average total value of 1 nights accommodation rate or the average of 1 nights of the total value of the package.
  • Bookings made and/or cancelled less than 15 days of arrival, no refund will be given.

Best Available Rate (Pay Now and Save, Early Booking Offer and Stay 5, Pay 4)

  • Best Available Rates are only be available for direct online bookings.
  • Best Available Rate cannot be used with any other hot deals and/or other special campaign promotions and inclusions.
  • No refunds upon cancellation, no modifications upon confirmation of bookings on this rate category.

No Shows

  • No refunds if there is no show on the day of arrival/ check in. Full value of booking will be charged.

Enhancements, package inclusions and tours

  • Prior to arrival day, cancellation policies for any enhancement items, package inclusions and/or tour services apply as per rate categories stated above.
  • Enhancement items and package inclusions not utlised are non-refundable
  • After arrival at the resort, there will be no refunds for cancellation of tour services booked as part of the enhancement items and/or package inclusions  unless a tour service is cancelled by resort management due to tide and/or weather conditions .
  • No refunds will be given for any tour services booked within 24 hours of tour departure date or failure to board the tour.

To ensure that sufficient time is available for ticketing, luggage collection and vehicle parking please arrive at your transfer point (Mainland Reception, River Heads Shopping Village, Shop 7, 54 Ariadne Street, River Heads) at least 45 minutes prior to your departure time.

  • Each guest may check-in two (2) items of luggage.
  • Additional items incur a handling fee of $10 per item.
  • Due to Australian WH&S requirements, the maximum acceptable weight for any single piece of luggage is 25kgs. Bags weighing 20+kgs will be tagged to indicate heavy luggage and that care must be taken when handling.
  • Bags are available for sale from the Mainland Reception if required to pack down.
  • In the event of refusal to pack down/pay excess, the guest will be asked to carry their own luggage at all transportation points.

We encourage all mobility impaired guests to contact us directly, so we can discuss your needs enroute to Fraser Island. Please contact us on 1800 BARGES (it's a free call in Australia) or by calling 617 4194 9300.

We have a wheelchair lift that can be used to transport guests from the vehicle deck to the main saloon when travelling to and from Fraser Island. If the lift is inoperable, passengers may book a private vehicle on to the ferry at the passenger rate. If a private vehicle is not available, Kingfisher Bay Resort will provide a driver and vehicle for use during the transfers.

Late check out and early check in requests are subject to availability and will incur a fee.

A pre-authorisation is simply a security deposit required by the hotel that temporarily reduces your credit card limit. It may be used to cover breakages, damage incurred during your stay or excessive cleaning charges in excess of normal cleaning.

This process validates your credit card and protects both the card holder and the resort against fraud. Please note the pre-authorisation doesn’t show up on your statement as a transaction and is released on check-out* provided there are no outstanding room charges.

  • Hotel: $100 per night (up to a maximum of $300 per stay).
  • Villas or house: s $100 per night plus an additional $200 security deposit (up to a maximum of $500 per stay).
  • If you don’t have a credit card, our team can accept a cash deposit.

*Please note: your bank may take up to 2-3 weeks to release this hold.
