Kerri's pure generosity of spirit really touched B105's morning crew with Labby, Stav & Abby, who approached us here at Kingfisher Bay Resort to see if we could help. Resort General Manager, Warwick Kahl, jumped at the opportunity to acknowledge such a wonderful, selfless act by donating a resort holiday to Kerri.
“It's been really devastating watching how recent extreme weather events have impacted on Bundaberg, Maryborough and other smaller towns - so we're just really happy to help out this amazing lady,” Mr Kahl said. “When Kerri finishes helping her Bundaberg community clean up, we look forward to welcoming her to Fraser Island for some well-deserved R&R.”
B105’s Labby said - and rightly so - that Kerri Savidge’s selfless act personified the Australian spirit of generosity and mateship.
“She could have pocketed $50,000 and taken a huge load off her own shoulders after losing her business, but instead she’s donated to the Bundaberg Flood Relief appeal, to take a load off her entire community,” he said. It’s an amazing act and we are just glad we could surprise her with a wonderful experience, just as she did for residents of her hometown.”
The B105 team presented an emotional Kerri with her resort prize on air this morning during their Wake Up with Labby, Stav & Abby show, which airs week days between 6am and 9am.
Closer to home... on behalf of the Kingfisher family, our thoughts and prayers are with our fellow Queenslanders as they begin the clean-up and we look forward to welcoming Kerri to our shores for some well-deserved pampering in the not too distant future.
