The sleep out is an initiative by mattress company Forty Winks, and helps provide light weight sleeping swags to Hervey Bay people in need – to help them get a better night’s sleep. Almost 100 backpack beds and more than $7300 were sponsored through the appeal for local charity We Care 2.
According to The Fraser Coast Chronicle, they arrived with green swags and a simple, heartfelt message – that our most disadvantaged people had not been forgotten.”
Kingfisher management joined Fraser Coast Mayor, Gerard O’Connell, Fraser Coast Council CEO, Lisa Desmond and Troy Sorensen from the Hervey Bay RSL.
According to our Resort General Manager, Warwick Kahl, fragmented families, with no one to fall back on, were one of the key targets of this campaign.
“As one of the biggest employers in the region – and a family orientated business – we felt it was important to join together with Hervey Bay businesses to raise awareness and vital funds to an extremely worthy local cause,” he said.
