A Partnership That Protects Our Oceans © Kingfisher Bay Resort - Fraser Island

We are a proud partner and Business Supporter of The Australian Marine Conservation Society - Australia's only national charity dedicated exclusively to protecting our oceans.

The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation staffed by a committed group of scientists, educators, and advocates who have defended Australia's oceans for 40 years. They, along with patron Tim Winton, work on the big issues concerning the sea - creating sustainable fisheries, recovering threatened species and creating marine national parks.

There are some good synergies with projects in our area concerning dugong and sea turtles.  Currently, we are rolling out initiatives across our various touch points in our business - retail, front office, marine and touring.

Check out an interview with Kingfisher Bay Resort's Managing Drector, Gary Smith in AMCS' Turning Tide magazine.

How can you help?
If you'd like to help us support the Australian Marine Conservation Society, you can:

  • Donate online when you book your accommodation with us (you'll find the link in the enhancements section);
  • We have a range of merchandise in our village store available for sale;
  • You can donate on check out (just ask the reception team and we can add to your bill); or
  • You can drop some loose change in any of the collection tins in and around the resort.

As the legislation with the recent Super Trawler showed, 'people power' can make a difference.
