Kingfisher Bay Resort - Fraser Island Accommodation

Community Matters

We're 100% Committed To Responsible Tourism On World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.

From beginning to being, Kingfisher Bay Resort was designed to give people an enjoyable nature based tourism experience on World Heritage listed Fraser Island. In conducting our business, we strive to minimise our environmental impacts, spread benefits through our local economies and support community wellbeing.

Our TeamOur Team

The Kingfisher Bay Resort Group is one of the largest employers in the Fraser Coast region – operating two resort properties, a touring and a marine business on World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.  Collectively we employ more than 300 people.

Kingfisher Bay Resort relies on a strong 'community spirit' to function both socially and at work. Each role has the opportunity to go beyond its basic job description; many of us are firemen and first aiders. These 'extra' bits are part of the fun of island living!

We believe for our team to be great and deliver on our promises, that we must create a working environment that promotes enthusiasm, encourages mutual respect and is sensitive to, and supportive of, individual needs.

Our people can make a difference!

Group General Manager David Hay is a member of the Fraser Island Community Advisory Committee which has worked with the Fraser Island Defenders lobbied both state and federal government for funding for Fraser Island.

David is also on the board of Tourism Fraser Coast (and is a past Deputy Chair) and lobbies Tourism Queensland and other Tourism bodies for regional funding.

Tour Manager Colin Anderson regularly works with universities and PHD students to assist with environmental research projects.
