Kingfisher Bay Resort - Fraser Island Accommodation

The resort undertakes road maintenance on major National Park thoroughfares (at our own expense) to reduce erosion and damage to Fraser Island's fragile environment.

Kingfisher Bay and our staff have always helped the local communities.  Significant contributions - generally involving the provision of holidays and tours for fundraising - are made annually in and around south-east Queensland for fundraising ventures, schools, universities and other organisations like the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter and the Hervey Bay Meals and Wheels volunteers (pictured).  

The Kingfisher Bay Resort Group is one of the largest employers in the Hervey Bay area and we believe it is essential to support and be part of the local community. We contribute to the local economy by spending most of our annual purchasing spend on local (within a 200km radius) labour, goods and services.

We have a Rural Fire Brigade base at the resort, which assists in cross-island firefighting and controlled burning exercises. We also maintain the truck and equipment and a number of our staff members are volunteer members of the brigade. 

CLIMATE CHANGE: We are actively looking at ways that we can educate guests/locals through interpretive activities – including Climate Change Walks and the introduction of an Australian Marine Conservation Society-approved Great Sandy Strait and Healthy Waterways interpretive walk.
