FRASER COAST: As released by Tourism Fraser Coast - The Fraser Coast's new collective marketing body, Fraser Coast Opportunities (FCO), will double tourism resources for the region, Tourism Fraser Coast Chairman David Hay announced today.

Mr Hay said the preferred organisational structure for Fraser Coast Opportunities had now been endorsed by the interim board and recruiting was expected to commence shortly for a variety of positions.

"One thing that is clear is that the structure of FCO clearly demonstrates a very strong emphasis on
tourism,'' Mr Hay said.

Fraser Coast Opportunities establishes a strong collective marketing umbrella for doing business on the Fraser Coast, and is designed to be the region's peak body for regional marketing, investment attraction, regional events and tourism development.

This collaborative partnership between Tourism Fraser Coast, the Fraser Coast Regional Council and the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Fraser Coast) will consist of four departments: Tourism, Regional Events, Marketing and Communication and Investment Attraction.

"Speaking from a tourism perspective, the new structure presents a positive step forward for the region resulting in a doubling of resources for the sector,'' Mr Hay said.

Tourism Fraser Coast currently operates with four full time staff compared to 21 full time equivalent staff under the new FCO entity.
