It’s been a golden 15 years!

Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village is the proud recipient of six Australian Tourism Awards and seven Queensland Tourism Awards for Ecotourism and Development and won a place in the Queensland Tourism Awards Hall of Fame after winning the 2006 Steve Irwin Ecotourism Award.

Kingfisher Bay’s stunning, eco-friendly design took out Australia’s top architectural prize for the main resort building and the resort’s signature restaurant – Seabelle - has recently been short listed in the 2007 Queensland Hotels' Association Best Restaurant Award for Excellence, won its category in 2006 and 2004 and was a finalist in the 2005 awards.

In 2007 and 2004 it was a finalist in the Australian Hotels Association Best Restaurant Awards. Seabelle has been placed in the Fraser Coast Tourism Awards Hall of Fame as a Best Tourism Restaurant.

Other accolades include the American Discovery Channel naming Kingfisher Bay Resort as Australia’s Best Beach Resort and Fraser Island as the World’s Best Beach. Earlier this year Fraser Island was named one of the World’s Sexiest Islands 2005 by the prestigious American business magazine Forbes. It was the only Australian island in the list.

The list says Fraser Island’s “enormous sand dunes provide plenty of space and privacy for frolicking on the beach” and it names Kingfisher Bay Resort as the place to stay. Previously Conde Nast Traveller readers voted Fraser Island one of the World’s Top 10 Tropical Islands for three years running.
