What a fabulous result! Earlier this year the team from Kingfisher Bay Resort joined forces with Lars Olsen for the 7th annual Forget Me Not Ball and raised more than $50,000.
Lars Olsen and his hard working Forget Me Not team are no strangers to the Fraser Coast community and his drive to ease the hardship and insecurity endured by Nepalese, Ugandan and Indian orphans has tugged on the heart strings of all he comes into contact with. Forget Me Not has projects in Nepal, Uganda and India, a children's home, eco village and child family sponsorship program.
WRAP UP OF 2012's BALL FESTIVITIES
According to Hervey Bay's Lars Olsen - founder of the Forget Me Not Children's Homes in Nepal and Uganda - the 2011 and 2012 Kingfisher Bay Resort Annual Charity Balls were a smashing success. On June 16, more than 140 ball-goers - from as far away as Melbourne and Byron Bay - and a dedicated team of volunteers, joined forces at the resort to raise much needed funds for Lars' cause. Plus 30 businesses, including Kingfisher Bay, donated auction items for the night.
Monies raised at this year's ball will again help Forget Me Not Children’s Home continue their vital work in Nepal, Uganda and India. Every dollar counts in the effort to change as many children’s lives as possible – to provide education, medical care and most importantly, a loving environment.
"Big hearts can really change lives and we are humbly appreciative for the continued support we receive from our local community - and companies like Kingfisher Bay Resort - it really does make a lasting difference at the most basic level," Lars said.
