From an early age, Peter Meyer was inspired by the beauty of nature, often spending hours watching David Attenborough documentaries and reading National Geographic magazines.

The fascination with nature continued throughout his teen years and in 1995 he joined Kingfisher Bay Ecotourism resort and the largest team of interpretive Rangers in the country. Peter truly fell in love with K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) and in 1997, when he was given an old Nikon SLR by his brother-in-law, started taking photographs of K'gari.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Peter has earned an international reputation for his stunning nature photos on the world's largest sand island and has worked as a photographer/guide for the BBC, National Geographic and Australian Geographic and, most recently, for the US Ambassador. Peter sells his work online and at the resort and has shown his stunning photographs in far away places. His works also adorn the walls of Kingfisher Bay Resort and our website and, with the launch of his 'K'gari Gallery', his pictures are on display for all visitors to this island paradise to see.
