Planning your next family holiday? Fraser Island’s as family-friendly as they come with 184,000 hectares of fresh-water lakes and creeks, sandblows, sub-tropical rainforests and World Heritage wilderness waiting to be walked, driven, swum and enjoyed. You might even call it the world’s largest sand pit!

Kingfisher Bay’s self-contained villas are a home away from home and there is heaps to do for all ages. Villas offer families the room to spread out and enjoy the surrounds – with kitchens, large balconies, cable TV and two and three bedroom options in a variety of configurations. Ask about a spa on your deck or hire a BBQ and make the most of the balmy weather.

Or if hotel rooms are more your style, consider our Resort Hotel Family Room, an interconnecting hotel room – pop the kids in one room at bedroom, leaving Mum and Dad some privacy just next door.

Whatever your choice, you can still take advantage of the resort’s facilities – games room, tennis courts, swimming pools, restaurants and eateries with kid-friendly menus.

There is heaps to do for all ages. You can explore the wonders of Fraser Island in your own four-wheel drive, the resort has expert rangers to take you bush walking and on 4WD coach tours – or take to the water by canoe or on a whale watch cruise.

The calm waters of Kingfisher Bay are safe for older children to canoe, sail and fish. Fraser Island’s fishing is some of the best in town – perfect for Dads wanting to while away the hours. And while the family is occupied, Mum can sneak away for a pamper session in Island Day Spa or a cocktail poolside.

Parents can also enjoy time to themselves during weekends and school holidays whilst kids have fun learning about nature with the Junior Eco Rangers program. Activities include art, walks, story telling, orienteering, rope courses and canoeing.

For the bigger children there are free tennis courts and for the little ones an Ausplay playground with climbing frames, swings and slides. The resort has two large saltwater swimming pools and another two at the Sand Bar.

And to top it off, Rangers also have a daily program of bird watching, bat viewing, frog and mammal spotting, marine, mangrove and bush tucker walks. It’s no wonder Kingfisher Bay Resort was woted as one of Australia's Top 10 family resorts, claiming fourth spot in the Holidays with Kids Magazine 2016 Readers' Choice Awards.
