It’s not just all about the kids on the sunset side of Fraser Island this Easter as Kingfisher Bay Resort's Ranger team roll out a range of eco-themed activities as part of their Junior Eco Ranger school holiday program. We've also got some activities for the bigger kids... 

AT THE RESORT…

Easter operating times from Thursday, April 2 - Monday, April 6. Please pre-book your dinner at The Maheno and Seabelle restaurants.

EATING AND DRINKING…

Family dinners are a big Easter tradition, and we're not one to break with tradition on Fraser. This year, families / groups of up to 4 will be able to take advantage of our casual, family-style BBQ dinners from 6pm until 9pm on Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sunday.  

We'll be setting up tables deckside, near the Centre Complex, and serving platters for dinner. Menus will include scrumptious offerings including antipasti selections; BBQ meat platters cooked by a Chef on the deck; Wagu rump, prawn skewers, gourmet sausages, local fish, chicken satay, BBQ marinated lamb and BBQ boneless pork rib; roasted rosemary chats, sweet corn and basil ratatouille. Desserts will be individual pavlova and creams.... yum!  Pre-bookings are essential.

In addition: 

  • The Sand Bar will have beverages available from 1000; lunch from 1130-1430; all day dining from 1430-1730 and dinner service from 1730 - 2100. Day Away guests will dine at The Sand Bar.
  • The Pool Bar is open from 1000-1800 with food and beverage.
  • Seabelle is open nightly from 1800 and bookings are required.
  • The Maheno Restaurant will be open for buffet breakfast (0630-1000) and will serve the following buffet dinner (1800-2100) options.

Buffet featuring baked barramundi and grilled local mackerel alongside a selection of salads, pizza, vegetables, and antipasto. This can be followed up with our dessert buffet.

GOOD FRIDAY - 3rd April: 
Buffet featuring baked barramundi, seafood biryani and grilled local mackerel alongside chicken thigh schnitzel and Tandoor lamb pizza and a selection of salads, pizza, vegetables, and antipasto. This can be followed up with our dessert buffet.

EASTER SATURDAY - 4th April: 
Buffet featuring baked barramundi and grilled local mackerel. You can also expect to see salads, lamb biryani, herbed steamed vegetables, Mediterranean lamb pizza, beef schnitzel with parson and lemon and tomato and basil soup

EASTER SUNDAY - 5th April: 
Buffet featuring baked barramundi, seafood chowder and grilled local mackerel alongside assorted salads and make-your-own salad items, vegetable pasta bake, lamb biryani, chicken thigh schnitzel, beef bourguignon and potato and leek soup.

EASTER MONDAY - 6th April 
Buffet featuring baked barramundi, seafood chowder and grilled local mackerel alongside pesto pasta and vegetable antipasti, lamb biryani, chicken thigh schnitzel, beef bourguignon and roasted root vegetables.

FOR THE KIDS…

Learning can be a wild experience on Fraser Island - just ask our Junior Eco Rangers! These fun and informative sessions teach children to care for the environment.

Activities may include:

• The Fraser Island Beach Olympics
• Treasure Hunts and Scavenger Hunts
• I Spy Our Feathered Friends
• Marine Life By Night
• Movie Mania and Games Nights
• Kids vs. Wild
• Campfire songs and telling of Aboriginal legends
• Bush Craft
• Stargazing.

During school holidays the Junior Eco Ranger programs run daily and this year will run from Friday, April 03 until Sunday, April 19. The afternoon programs rotate so please see your What's On Guide for additional activity details.

The Great Fraser Easter Egg Hunt is on...
Easter Sunday wouldn’t be Easter without a special appearance from the Easter Bunny who, under the cover of night, will be hiding Easter Eggs in and around the resort grounds and poolside for a special children’s Easter Egg hunt. Join our Ranger teamat 11am(please check the What's On guide to confirm this time) as we search high, low and everywhere in between for those elusive eggs. FOR THE BIGGER KIDS...

Our therapists are taking advantage of the gorgeous weather by introducing our all-new 30 minute outdoor massages for the Easter long weekend.  Our poolside treatments will take place on the undercover decks beside the main pool (lower level, the Centre Complex) from Good Friday to Easter Monday 11am-5pm (subject to availability) during the holidays and are weather dependent.
